After spending six years living in Asia, delving deeply into Eastern philosophies, partaking in several silent meditation retreats, extreme martial arts training, hiking in the Himalayas and around a Japanese island, as well as spending time volunteering in orphanages, I moved to Israel and ended up discovering the depth, beauty and wisdom of my own religion. After making Aliyah in 2008 and alongside learning in yeshiva, I set up a social justice organisation, All for the Kids, which raised money and awareness for orphanages in India, Africa and Israel and made it into the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ web-booklet entitled ‘Young Leaders of Israel 2010.’
Two projects were the 40 day fundraising walk of the entire length of Israel which raised $18,000 for vulnerable kids, and the 10 day volunteer and Jewish meditation retreats for Israeli backpackers spending time in India. In 2009 saw the founding of Self Discovery, an organisation which ran workshops, seminars and short trips for young Jewish adults to help them tap into their innate power and potential and take control of their lives in a positive and fulfilling way. I'm now a senior Lecturer at Aish HaTorah World Centre in Jerusalem and Founder/Director of Living in Tune: Authentic Jewish Mindfulness (www.litmindfulness.org) which runs on-line Jewish Mindfulness Courses and In-person retreats.
Baruch Hashem, I speak for many organisations bringing trips to Israel (such as Aish, NCSY, USY, MEOR, JLE, Young Judaea, J-Interns, Pathways, Momentum) often fly in to the USA, England and Canada to speak in shuls and Jewish organisations.
Apparently, I am known for my 'down to earth, authentic and experiential style, weaving together stories and lessons from (his) journey through the East with deeply spiritual yet practical Torah wisdom.' I have smicha in Issur vHeter and am currently studying for Smicha in Hilchot Shabbat.
My book Mastering Life: A Unique Guidebook to Jewish Enlightenment received haskamas from Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky, Rav Yitzchak Berkowitz, Rav Moshe Weinberger, Rav Zev Leff, Rabbi Akiva Tatz, Rabbi David Aaron and Rav Benjamin Blech. It's available on Amazon here.
